# How it works

> Networks, receive methods, and wallet approvals.

## Select an account and network

Mainnet and testnet have separate addresses, assets, balances, and activity.

## Receive and send

Choose a receive method that matches the sending wallet. Arkade addresses and Bitcoin boarding addresses serve different purposes.

Review recipient, amount, and fees before sending. Submission and final confirmation are different states; check activity after submitting.

## Connect applications

The extension shows the requesting website and the accounts available for connection. Subsequent reads and actions depend on permissions and the current account and network.

Signatures and transactions require separate confirmation.

## Testnet Swap

The wallet obtains pairs and quotes from the testnet market. Supported pairs, liquidity, and fees depend on current market conditions.
